Bring joy to your day with adorable Aussie wildlife
No matter where you are in the world, let Australia's wildlife bring some happiness to your day.
It's no secret that Australia is famous for its amazing wildlife experiences. While you plan the perfect trip to meet our furry, laid-back animals, why not tune in to their chilled out vibes from home? They'll be sure to put a smile on your face.
Sit back and relax with this contented koala

"Umm excuse me - did I say stop?" - Wolverine the koala is rather fond of a good scratch, which is quite evident from the contented look on his face! @currumbinsanctuary volunteer @koalakrusader and Wolverine have had a close bond ever since he came out of the pouch - apparently he's "super playful", and he particularly loves tummy rubs (you don't say!). You can meet Wolverine and even have a photo with him at this wildlife park in the @visitgoldcoast, just an hour's drive south of @visitbrisbane

Wolverine the koala, who lives at Queensland’s Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, lives a ‘no worries’ lifestyle. His favourite way to unwind? A nice, long belly scratch.
Slow down with this serene sea turtle

Spotted: #GreatKeppelIsland local shellebrating another glorious beach day. 🎉🏝️ @keppelexplorer saw this sea #turtle going for its morning swim around the @queensland island, located off the @visitcapricorn coast in the @southerngreatbarrierreef. Only a 30-minute ferry ride from @visityeppoon, the island has 17 beaches and countless #wildlife experiences, it's a must-do for nature lovers. Plan a #HolidayHereThisYear and join a @keppelexplorer guided tour to swim, dive, snorkel and see the best highlights of the island in a day. #seeaustralia #thisisqueensland #visitcapricorn #southerngreatbarrierreef #wildlifephotography #travel

There’s nothing like gently floating in the calm ocean current to put your mind at ease. With 17 different beaches surrounding Great Keppel Island in the Southern Great Barrier Reef, this soothing sea turtle has her pick of morning swim spots.
Snooze the alarm like this sleepy quokka

How good is the snooze button? 😴 @edringwood saw this sleepy #quokka on @rottnestislandwa, who's not quite ready to get up from its afternoon nap yet. These adorable critters generally sleep during the day and become more active at night, but you’re likely to see some hopping around in daylight when you visit this island in @westernaustralia. A short ferry ride from @destinationperth or #Fremantle will get you here. #seeaustralia #justanotherdayinwa #rottnestisland #wildlifephotography #weeklyfluff #animalkingdom

Everyone needs a sleep-in sometimes, especially this cosy quokka on Western Australia’s Rottnest Island. Take inspiration from our mate and make the most of a slower pace of life.
Let loose like South Australia’s sea lions

Although she's rather modest, Sally has always been the best bubble blower in her colony 😊 @nicol.wright met this bubble blowing extraordinaire on a @calypsostarcharters ‘Swim with the Sea Lions’ tour in @southaustralia’s @port_lincoln. This part of the @eyrepeninsula is renowned for its marine life experiences, which also include swimming with wild dolphins, whale watching and cage diving with great white sharks. P.S. There’s still a couple of weeks left to squeeze in a swim with these playful sea lions in #SouthAustralia before the water gets too chilly, @calypsostarcharters operate their tours until mid-June, they then start up again in September when the weather is warmer. #seeaustralia #seesouthaustralia #eyrepeninsula #wildlife #adventure

The underwater antics never stop in South Australia’s Port Lincoln. The Eyre Peninsula is full of unique wildlife experiences, one of which is the chance to dive into the water with these playful sea lions.
Tune in to virtual kangaroo cuddles

Love is all you need 💕 Sending you a virtual hug from @thekangaroosanctuary in @ntaustralia. We went through the archives to dig up this old memory, and isn’t it a goodie 😍 We encourage you to do the same and share snaps from your previous holidays or weekends away in Australia, as a reminder that there are so many more good times and adventures to be had when you #seeaustralia in the future.

All you need is love... and kangaroo cuddles. There are plenty to be had at The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs, where dozens of orphaned kangaroos are rescued and rehabilitated, and looking for affection.
Hang out the Australian way

Next up on #Australia’s Got Talent: Lane from @australianreptilepark. 🐨 @ranger_dean discovered that koalas' acrobatic skills are tenfold better when there’s food involved. Watch this talented #koala in action on the beautiful @visitcentralcoastnsw, only an hour’s drive from @sydney. You can book an up-close photo opportunity with the koalas (as well as wombats, kangaroos and dingoes) while you’re there, although we can’t guarantee they’ll be performing this routine. 😂 #seeaustralia #newsouthwales #centralcoastnsw #australianreptilepark #wildlifephotography #travel

At the Australian Reptile Park in New South Wales’ Central Coast, the weather’s nice, the gum leaves are plentiful, and the pace of life is very Aussie – chilled out to the max.
Get active like this wombat

When you realise it's almost the weekend💃 Meet Bliss, @thekangaroosanctuary’s resident Southern Hairy-Nosed #wombat, who likes to sleep all day and then gets the 'zoomies' when she wakes up at sunset, before partying all night - that’s our kinda girl! 😉 This #wildlife sanctuary at @visitcentralaus's #AliceSprings is not only home to lots of rescued baby kangaroos and adult roos, but also two orphaned wombats, which are actually the only of their kind to be found in the whole of the @ntaustralia since this isn't their usual habitat. They’re quite the lucky pair to be based at this special spot, which is open for guided sunset tours from Tuesday to Friday each week. #seeaustralia #NTaustralia #RedCentreNT #wildlifephotography #weeklyfluff

It’s not always easy to keep calm, and nobody knows that better than this southern hairy-nose wombat at The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs. Take a leaf out of his book and up your activity from the comfort of your own home. Star jumps anyone?
